Re: What happened to Palemoon?

question? anyone running 29.2.0 and have old addons? Reason for asking Starting with this version, we will no longer be supporting unmaintained legacy Firefox extensions that are not updated for/targeting Pale Moon directly. I'm using umatrix (which I see they have nmatrix for) ublock and a few oth...

Re: Doneness of meat

Ground beef I do medium to medium well (there is more chance for bacteria to grow due to surface area).

Steaks I'll do medium rare.

EGIT_REPO_URI="https://repo.palemoon.org/MoonchildProd ... e-Moon.git"
EGIT_COMMIT="${PV}_Release"

Memba when it was the GIMP ToolKit and RH/Gnome basically just took it over? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

According to the Rhodium Group, China emits as much greenhouse gases as the rest of the developed world combined. Thank goodness for the Paris Agreement! I am breathing much easier knowing the international community has my back. SRC Obviously, because China produces 80% of World's goods, and has 1...

Re: what do you like about your job

If someone brand new to the job market today managed to put away $100 every other week for the next 45 years of their life, growing at a return of 8%/year, they'd have over a million dollars to retire on. A million that they could pass on to their spouse or children if they didn't live long enough ...

Re: From power on to login prompt, how does Linux boot, step by step?

I noticed when installing 5.10.27 that "make oldconfig" prompted me to enter the location of init. I entered "/sbin/init" So apparently that is now optional. More Red Hat work? I just looked in my config files and I don't have a /sbin/init anywhere... I'm guessing you're using g...

Re: Why are you here, on the OTW 2.0?

fgo is all about stifling debate and approved speech now. You either go along with a certain cabal of devs and the Council they abuse, or else they will harass you into submission. It has become hard to have legitimate discussion regarding their favorite pet projects, like systemd, and the fallout i...

Re: what do you like about your job

Don't worry about a trust fund. UK pensions have always been paid out of current taxation and it seems to have worked here. Many people don't understand government finance. it's its own wacky world. People compare it a business or a household. It is neither. A government with fiat currency cannot &...

Re: what do you like about your job

I could retire much earlier if the government didn't feel entitled to take 15.3% of my pay to give it to other people to retire (to say nothing of the 70% or so they take all together). Both the US and UK are over 100% debt to GDP. It's not sustainable, at least not for my lifetime. I'd opt out of f...

Re: what do you like about your job

I fully expect Social Security to be gone before I get to retirement age (I just turned 44) - it's already paying out more than it is taking in and there hasn't been a trust fund since 1967, when the Democrats stole all the money from Social Security to make it look like they weren't bankrupting us ...

Being my own boss and having the flexibility that comes with that... The downside, is that I'm also ultimately responsible for everything... the two biggest headaches being regulatory compliance (including taxes) and having to deal with people. Right now, I'm neck deep in my busiest time of year (6 ...

Re: How do you manage your ~/Downloads folder?

Transitory downloads get deleted after use. Anything I want to keep gets archived in various directories under ~/misc, some of which have directory structures of their own (ie, misc/mybusinessname, misc/docs, misc/legal, misc/manuals, misc/politics, etc). I also have a /mnt/scratch where certain oth...

First that come to mind is GCC, probably the most valuable free tool ever made. Having gone TRS-80->DOS->OS/2->*nix in the early/mid 90s, gcc was one of my favorite things about Linux... Compilers were ridiculously expensive and as a teenager that didn't have any money with parents that didn't make...

they just insist on wanting the designated voter. Who cares about making sure only eligible people vote and that they can only vote once.

Re: What happened to Palemoon?

I'm using the palemoon overlay... if you want just the ebuild, you can find it here, though you probably need the eclass too https://github.com/gentoo-mirror/palemoon/tree/master/www-client/palemoon there's actually a newer version in this repo, which is done by the same person (I might need to look...
