Re: what do you like about your job
Old JB has to answer this question Hi Old JB, This is the thing which I know is called Soft Skills. The safest thing is to show your loyalty to the company, tell them that you like to work with people in this comfortable environment, and you can add something attracting boss' attention, for example...

Re: How many different symbols are in a binary number? (not two)
Also called Frequency Shift Keying. Carrier being fHz and the two symbols f+x and f-x. Yes, the further idea is that we can send several such frequencies simultaneously, 8 frequencies can encode 8 bits, and filter them on a receiving end at the same time, and this increases the ratio payload dictio...

It seems he attempted to joke that compiling ebuilds and mining bitcoins are both huge electricity consumers and heat waste producers

Re: How many different symbols are in a binary number? (not two)
I think that's because we mix physical layer (high voltage <-> low voltage) and logical level (1 <-> 0), and we have the absence of signal (low voltage) intersects with logical 0. And here we're missing the third thing - absence of information. Something similar we can se in programming languages, w...

Re: Measure velocity of a flying/falling object, from within the object, without GPS or air speed.
We have a demand for such a forum. I tried to raise philosophical topics like this one https://otw20.com/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=371 , not so many people find the topic interesting, and these topics sink in the sea of politics discussions. I think philosophers need their lair, it will not be activ...

Re: A bag of books
Hyperion Cantos by Dan Simmons
French language self-study book (with mp3 player, of course)
In case the vacation is going to be long enough, 30 and more days, I would take also Spanish or Romanian or Polish language self-study books

Re: Your local food and drink specialties
People say it is most delicious if butchers use straw to burn the hair off the pig's skin, this adds an aroma different from smoking. If it is planned to store it for a long time then it must be salted. Also it can be smoked. Everything, even boiled. Remember Bubba's recipes from Forrest Gump? Need ...

Re: Your local food and drink specialties
Is it cured? Looks like I do not understand the question. Maybe, I used a wrong word when tried to explain some difference between lard, bacon and salo. Salo differs from bacon in our shops, and it seems to me the word lard has too wide meaning. I think the difference depends on conditions of anima...

Re: Your local food and drink specialties
What am I looking at in the middle picture though? It looks like raw meat. Pig lard with one or two pink layers of meat, good as a cold snack for vodka, it is better if served frozen and sliced on thin layers, with strong mustard, black bread, onion feathers and boiled potato. serving example and f...

Re: Your local food and drink specialties
Some examples of local cuisine:
Borscht + pampusky with garlic
Ukrainian icecream also known as frozen Salo - must have to be present in vodka set
Varenyky also known by Polish word Pierogie, but in my native language "pirogie" sounds like fried buns

IMO "Smart TV" option is an extra service with a large overpayment, the real price of which is comparable to the price of a HDMI dongle on Black Friday - $ 16.

Re: The Anti-RMS Inquisition
That's not a crowd. That's a lynch mob.. Crowd or lynch mob - I agree with either naming. RMS is a mascot of liberty, Jah in software world, at least for many people in CIS countries, and he must be connected with the foundation in somehow way, but he does not have to be in board. What sounds logic...

I'm not really good in English, but I think it can be just a sarcasm: if no person can provide concrete steps to make a job then need to ask AI
ok I'll take an AI to follow up with more concrete steps

Re: wine that aged more than one year on board the iss
Heard somewhere in the wild and remembered:
Petrus is the only famous Bordeaux wine that does not have the word "Chateau" in its name, since castle has never been on the territory of the estate.
