Don't beat yourself up over it too much. Mac OS X => OS X => macOS in the span of 4 years. My sources tell me they'll be calling it macACos by next week.

Can you still run all the BSD tools on it? I used ports to install some stuff

Not as terrible as naming Linux Subsystem for Windows as Windows subsystem for Linux. If Windows ran on Linux kernel then maybe it would be logical, but as always Microsoft and logic are never go together.

I'm pretty sure you still can unless they've changed something in Big Sur.

There are also some tools in here like dd that are some old BSD version from 1994 and missing options which I'm used to having on Linux. It's also got sudo, nano and ed preinstalled! No wget though. :cry:
