Supporting Roy Marples
Re: sad news
Omg
I use to chat with him on IRC (he convinced me to do a new sync as I was doing a new build and he just pushed openrc!)
Met him at one of the gentoo-uk meets (where I also met coke)

Roy is an inspiration to me. Someone of supreme talent and knowledge who has seemed to give more time to Gentoo than it deserves

Here's wishing Roy well and his family too.
I met him at Gentoo-uk 2007. It was the day after council disbanded the proctors and he was a council member.
Naib was there too. I still have a few of the Larry the Cow posters from that.

He's strong, he'll be coding for a long time yet.

Re: Supporting Roy Marples
I've never met Roy, or interacted with him outside of fgo, but Gentoo lost something special when he retired as a dev, and I can't believe I'm reading this this-morning. IIRC he'd still be reasonably young and with a young family too? I'd be happy for anyone who is in contact to pass on my best wishes and sincere hope that he makes it through this.
