Did Prometheus made us a favour by giving us the fire?
I say yes. Thanks.
But I'm afraid we will destroy ourself, one day or another, playing with these dangerous atomic games.
I'm very pessimist; I hope I'm wrong, and we will wake up, realize the danger, and stop attempting our own safety.
Then something else will destroy us, like a black hole in the sky...
Humanity was never supposed to last.

It is the nature of things. Nothing lasts forever.
The word nature itself implies that.
In latin it means something like "the ever borning", "something that keeps borning".
The term was first used by the Roman author Lucretius, around one century BC, to entitle his book "De rerum natura".
Quoting from him:

Quoting from him:
And first,
Since body of earth and water, air's light breath,
And fiery exhalations (of which four
This sum of things is seen to be compact)
So all have birth and perishable frame,
Thus the whole nature of the world itself
Must be conceived as perishable too.
For, verily, those things of which we see
The parts and members to have birth in time
And perishable shapes, those same we mark
To be invariably born in time
And born to die.
And therefore when I see
The mightiest members and the parts of this
Our world consumed and begot again,
'Tis mine to know that also sky above
And earth beneath began of old in time
And shall in time go under to disaster.

...yet.[fallout 2022] no radioactive discharges had been detected
Once upon a time a king asked his wise men for some words that would be true for all time.
Eventually, they came back with
.... and this too shall pass away

i was thinking about adding ...yet to the title when opening otw this morning and now see that you did mention it too. so i did it.
yes crazy times. i think that building those imobile potentional atomic boms was not so wise after all. but maybe this war will not be such a big problem when the earth quakes really start due to global warming.
