Even if there is, interstellar space travel is either hard or economically unviable. See the Fermi paradox. If there is some other reason for ET to arrive, they will have their own agenda. That's what evolution does to species.

First prove to me that there is intelligent life on earth. Some clever monkeys invented the television and the internet but based on what I see there, one can't really call them intelligent.
And if one tunes in to a Senate debate, it's clear that no intelligence at all exists. As an outsider (American) I'll refrain from commenting on the UK House of Commons. I'm sure4 a Brit can do it better.
